We are an independent real estate business established in 2002.

Originally set up as a property fund manager, we now specialise in real estate financial restructurings and distressed debt acquisitions.

 
 
 

What We Do


FINANCIAL
RESTRUCTURING

On behalf of our investors, Tyburn Lane provides access to commercial property and debt restructuring opportunities, both directly and indirectly, and manages those investments post-acquisition.

Since 2002 we have raised over £160 million from institutional and private investors, acquiring more than £850 million of commercial property throughout the UK and Germany.


Distressed Debt
Acquisitions

In 2013, Tyburn Lane acquired its first portfolio of distressed real estate loans from a major UK bank at a discount of 80%.  The face value of the loans was in excess of £100 million with the underlying property assets spread throughout the UK and Europe. 

Over the next three years, we were successful in having the loans repaid, generating a 1.7x multiple on the purchase.

Over the following few years, we acquired further distressed loans from a number of institutions secured on properties throughout the UK.  The majority of these deals have now been successfully asset managed and the properties sold on.


Tyburn Lane Debt Management Limited

 

In 2020, Tyburn Lane established a joint venture with Castlebrooke Investments Limited to acquire and manage distressed real estate loans secured on properties in the UK and Europe.  Financial backing has been arranged from a major private financial institution.

The slowdown in the property market following the Brexit vote, coupled with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, is resulting in opportunities to deploy these funds, and an existing pipeline has already been established.

John Daly

John graduated from Oxford University in 1983, before working for the Bank of Montreal and Bank of Ireland as a generalist lender and bond trader for eight years. In 1991, he joined GE Capital’s London Real Estate team and moved to Anglo Irish Bank in 1996.

In 2002, John left his position as Associate Director with Anglo to establish Tyburn Lane Private Equity alongside Pat O'Hara.

Pat O’Hara

Pat graduated from University College Dublin in 1988 and worked in the Corporate Banking Division of Bank of Ireland in London for many years, before joining Anglo Irish Bank in 1992.

Pat left his position as Associate Director with Anglo in 2002 to establish Tyburn Lane Private Equity with John Daly.

Rob Savill

Rob joined Tyburn Lane in September 2010 and is responsible for the general day-to-day investment management operations.

Before joining Tyburn Lane, Rob spent 5 years at Anglo Irish Bank, working in the Property Lending and Private Banking divisions as a client relationship manager.
